What is JasonTom.com Valued Worth

July 27, 2017 at 01:30AM

I remember about two years ago when a website owner approached me about purchasing his domain and it was an opportunity I seriously thought about. Would have a been a nice project to work on, and the potential of what may have been. I was not the highest bidder and it got sold to someone else. The asking price of the owner was somewhere in the neighborhood of the four digit land. How much it sold for once it was sold though is an undisclosed amount and it's currently in the right hands in the rebranding process.

I have an idea of what it is to have maintained and to maintain JasonTom.com a near decade to be reliable and to function at optimal level so that folks can contact me direct to book and hire me for a project and or event, etc. I will say the value have…

Jason Tom Amphitheater for KCC

July 9, 2017 at 11:04PM

Today, I stumbled upon this article "Dream Christmas Wish List for Kapiʻolani Community College" by Chris Takahashi featured on The Kapiʻo News. The Jason Tom Amphitheater made it on his Dream Wish List for University of Hawaiʻi at Kapiʻolani (my Alma mater). Unbelievable that It has been over a decade since I have officially graduated from KCC. It was not until today that an amphitheater named after me have been dreamt of and is being pitched. Got to give it up to Chris Takahashi for having dreamt that up. I have to meet this guy one day. A visionary. What an honor it would be for it to come to fruition hey? The Kapiʻo News reporter Lexus Yamashiro is currently writing up an upcoming feature on me for The Kapi'o News on my experiences as a KCC alumnus. Be…

November 2, 2016 at 04:37PM

Back in May of this year I was contacted directly through e-mail about NextNext Hawaii. An exciting new project, a music competition and charity event sponsored by McDonald's owner-operators of Hawaii. To discover "Sounds that Spark Change!" The contest began August 1st and wrapped up on October 31st. I chose the Ronald McDonald House Hawaii charity, because it's dear to my heart to help those who need it most, especially our children and families.

The NextNext Hawaii Team is currently verifying and tabulating all of the votes. I want to thank each and everyone who voted for me and or for your favorite musician, artist or band! We supported good talent and music, good food and all for a good cause. Over 40 contestants and the Top 5 generated approximately 52,715…

Hogan Entrepreneur News: Students Speak to Jason Tom

Hogan News: Students Speak to Jason Tom

It was a pleasure to hear from Jason Tom who is truly a passionate musician at heart. He spoke to us about his journey, career, and showed us that passion can take us far in life.

Growing up, one would think you could not make a living from a hobby like beatboxing. Jason proves it is possible. He created his own style of beatboxing, traveled around the world, won poetry slams and other competitions, and is known as one of the top beatboxers in the world. Jason is an excellent example of pursuing your dreams. An advice I took to heart is to "know that with everything you do, there is no accident... everything happens for a reason". Successful individuals are able to learn from their mistakes, do not give up and have goals th…

Beat-belly-tiful

Recap of what has been going on. Growing up I always loved visuals that told a story, whether it'd be through illustrations, film or photographs. So here are photos courtesy of Joe Marquez (the Smoking Camera):

Global Dance Cafe 6 at Oceans 808 (in preparation for the 2010 PUJA Dance Concert: Love Letters on June 5th & 6th) was a lot of fun.... big ups to Willow Chang for inspiring me to utilize more of my "dance." My hat tips off to the late Michael Jackson, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. They're my top song and dance heroes. Here was some preliminary fun I had with a pre-performance photoshoot (more at jasontom.com/photos):

Then came performance time that brought the roof down (more at jasontom.com/photos).

Then I brought up my guest MC artist friend Faioso to p…

Jason Tom ISA LA

Two videos courtesy of Crispee Productions while I was at the 2009 International Secret Angeles Los Angeles (2009 ISA LA) Concert at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse produced by Wong Fu Productions and the Far East Movement. My ISA San Francisco and Los Angeles experiences were memorable for 2009. After the concert I joined the Far East Movement, Wong Fu Productions, Quest Crew, Kevjumba, and the ISA LA crew for dinner.

Here I am performing a freestyle with a couple of crow calls and Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean."

I performed an a cappella and acoustic version of, "Listen Carefully," an original beatbox song I wrote and composed in 2007.

TEDxHonolulu

December 4, 2009 at 12:24AM

Early last month I was a guest entertainer for the TEDxHonolulu (TEDxHNL) conference which took place at the Hawaii Convention Center. "TED" of "TEDx" is a acronym for "Technology, Entertainment, Design," and the "x" of "TEDx" represent "an independently organized TED event." TED's motto is "ideas worth spreading."

AsianAve.com's Member of the Month!

June 16, 2008 at 03:25PM

Who here remembers AsianAvenue.com? Well, here is some background information before I start my entry, Community Connect (AsianAvenue.com's parent company that also launched BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com, GLEE.com, and FaithBase.com) closed AsianAvenue.com, and gave birth to AsianAve.com. In other words they subtracted the "nue" from AsianAvenue.com and added a new AsianAve.com with a fresh infrastructure. Still with me here? Some new features that were not in the old site include blogs, unlimited photo uploads, video uploads, groups, style, rate me, music profiles, comments, and more. Old features that remain are chatrooms, forums, news, member find, notes, guestbook, friends list, flirt, MOTD, etc.

Anyway, this year on June 3rd I became AsianAve.com's featured Member…

There are soooooooo many others I could list! I LOVE to read!

Well, here are some of my favorite classics: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and The Lord of the Rings (series) by J.R.R. Tolkien. Some great non-fiction books about the dance culture I love include Foundation by Joseph Schloss, which is an excellent book about NYC B-boy/B-girl or breaking/breakdance culture, Can't Stop Won't Stop by Jeff Chang, which is a great historical analysis of American Hip Hop culture, and The Underground is Massive by Michelangelo Mathos, an amazing history of electronic dance music culture. Happy reading everyone :)

Enders Game, The Great Gatsby, Of Men and Mice, Maximum Ride. I need to read more books. I haven't read so long Bc I've been attached to the ones I've already read.

Aye that's lit. Keep doing what you're doing and you're putting a positive influence to a lot people

Jason Tom is a one-of-a-kind individual. During my sophomore year of high school, I remember watching him beatbox for our school for just a few minutes and was blown away by the amount of talent he was able to showcase in just that limited amount of time. Fast forward about three years or so, I was looking to write a feature story of a KCC alumnus/alumna for the KCC newspaper and came across Jason's name online. He was quick to respond to me when I reached out to him, and he was very interested in being featured. I got the chance to interview him, and couldn't believe the stories that he had to share with me. Over a two hour period, I was able to learn a lot about who Jason was, and he has proved to me that anybody can make it in life when even in the toughest situations. His humor and charismatic nature really bring his personality to life, and I blows me away to know that he has a positive impact on the community not only through his beatboxing but also through his words. Jason is inspiring, and I'm glad that I got to chat with him and share his story with many others and beyond.
