Power In Prayer

There is power in prayer. Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer, which takes place every First Thursday of May. When we pray it moves the hand of God and our faith even the size of a mustard seed can tumble the walls of Jericho and move mountains. The walls of Jericho represent our insecurities and fears. Our mountains moved and being cast into the sea is when we aren't moved by our circumstances and we persevere through it all with God. It also opens the windows and doors of heaven for God's favor and blessings as well as protection, and provision.

Pastor Art Sepulveda and I with a guest at our prayer gathering.

Last year God supernaturally protected me when I got assaulted on my way to grab groceries. A teenager recognized me as the beatboxer he knows and I acknowledged him while this older man next to him approached me and asked me for drugs. I told him I have no drugs, and I offered to pray for him. Without warning the man used his skateboard and attacked me on my head. I felt no pain, I did not flinch, I did not go "ouch," and I showed, "no fear." Without a fight that man walked away. I discerned what happened and recognized what happened in the spiritual realm. I first rebuked the devourer out loud, "satan, get behind me." Then I blessed the man with boldness and authority, "that's right sir, keep on walking and know that God loves you and Jesus is walking alongside you right now. Know that you are forgiven. I forgive you. Sir, know that Jesus is holding your hand right now as you are walking. Jesus loves you sir. He will keep walking with you. Jesus will not leave you, fail you and he will not forsake you. I want you to know that Jesus loves you sir." Then I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray in the heavenly language and mysteries of God in that area as I proceeded to get groceries. I am grateful I did not flesh out, and I supernaturally experienced no pain and no fear. He could have had another weapon, a knife or gun. It's not worth it and the Holy Spirit gave me immediate discernment that our warfare is not carnal and on how I handled that situation was what Father God equipped me to do. I am not ashamed of the Gospel. The hand of God protected me that night.

Mighty Men of God at the Men of Conquest Conference

Prior to heading out for groceries, I prayed up to put on the whole armor of God, the helmet of salvation, the breast plate of righteousness, the shield of faith to quench the wiles and fiery darts of the evil one, the belt of truth, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and the sandals of the preparation of the Gospel. Then I went. God protected me.

Go Back

Thank you for sharing. It is inspire me to pray when there are bad suitation.

Wow...just wow. A reminder of how faith in God wins. I’ve been loved by my own circumstances too long.

I am glad you experienced no harm Jason!

Praise God for this testimony, may His kingdom come and will be done! Jesus loves us! Amen!

May CHRIST our GOD always keep HIS hands of protection over you and deliver you from the evil one. Your story reminded me of the Samaritan Woman. Tomorrow at my Temple, we remember her in the Divine Liturgy. St Photini (St Svetlana) is the First Evangelist and she was a Gentile like you and me. After she encountered Christ, she told her entire town about the Messiah. Her entire family converted to The Dao (The Way, which is the name of the early of Christian church). She, a woman, is counted in the ancient Orthodox Church as the 13th Apostle, equal among the 12. The Pagan Roman Government had come down hard on Christians, persecuting & killing them. This spirit of Anti-Christ is still here today and rising in America, especially in its Blue Cities & Blue States. In California, there is a bill coming that might ban the Bible and any Christian counsel in matters pertaining to homosexuality, transgenderism, etc. Anyway, St Photini's sons were executed because they did not deny the Christ though one son was a decorated Roman Commander who fought against the government's enemies. Her sister did not deny CHRIST, too, and her breasts were cut off, then her limbs were tied to stretched down trees, and her limbs torn off when the ropes were cut. St Photini suffered torture, too. Finally, the government threw her into a well until she finally died. All of these Saints became martyrs that we, Orthodox, remember, venerate and inspire us to persevere in our Christian walk to be like Christ. The point here is that these Martyrs never felt pain as they were tortured & killed by Divine Intervention, it is said in our records, and this is what happened to you. But thank GOD, you were not killed. I will pray for you. Let us pray too for our Christian brethren, 10s of millions, who suffer in Syria, North Korea, Nigeria... who are displaced, tortured and martyred by Radical Islam and Radical Communism. Peace be unto you.

Thx for sharing your story Jason. It's inspiring to me knowing that you could've fleshed out but instead chose not to. You chose instead to use your authority in Jesus in focusing on the spiritual aspect of it all and by doing so showed God's love and power.

In my years of being a Christian, I have seen the power of prayer and its importance. I have seen marriages restored, cancer being gone, people being delivered by strongholds and God's miraculous Hand upon His people. A co-worker shared with me this acronym, P.U.S.H. which stands for Pray until something happens. We have to keep praying and pray specifically so that God can move mountains.

That was very inspiring the way you controlled yourself and didn't fight back and blessed him, you are so kind for doing that and thank you God for looking over Jason.

Too bad I missed it! I should have requested the day off.

Looking forward to it! Thank you for sowing into my friend Ruby & I.

Congratulations on having your video featured on TED-Ed! I won’t be able to make it because I lead a Connect Group at that time. I’ll have Siri watch it for me.
